Tyler’s journey in the airline industry began with Air Midwest Airlines in 2005, where he served as a Customer Service agent while still pursuing his studies. Over the course of 19 years, he has amassed a wealth of experience in various roles, including Flight Operations, Safety, Station Management, Avionics, and Talent Acquisition. His unwavering dedication to safety, a cornerstone of his career, has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry’s operational and safety needs, instilling confidence in his competence and commitment.
Since joining Piedmont Airlines in 2015, Tyler has held several pivotal positions. He commenced his journey as the Manager of Safety Programs, where he was entrusted with implementing and managing safety programs and initiatives. His exceptional skills and contributions in this role propelled him to the position of Manager of Human Resources for Air Operations Recruitment. In 2019, Tyler’s strategic vision and leadership were recognized with his promotion to Director of Talent Acquisition and Development. In this role, he spearheads all recruiting efforts and employee development initiatives at Piedmont Airlines, inspiring others with his achievements and dedication.
Tyler is committed to excellence in his field. He holds several certifications, such as Firefighter I (ARFF), Certified Pilot Recruiting Specialist, HR Manager Certification, and Employment Law Certification, and is an instrument-rated Private Pilot. His dedication and impactful contributions to collegiate aviation education have been recognized with the University Aviation Association’s prestigious W. W. Estridge Award. He serves as a Firefighter, Emergency Medical Responder, and Emergency Veterinary Technician, demonstrating his dedication to safety and his community. Moreover, he is the proud owner of Eat the Frog Fitness in Ashburn, Virginia, where he applies process improvement principles to drive efficiencies.
